Religious Services:

The mosque holds the regular four daily prayers along with Jumuah prayer and all Eid prayers. Taraweeh prayer is also delivered during Ramadhan-No Fajr or Isha prayer is performed until council permission is granted.
We have found a learned, hafiz Quran as full time Imam for our Centre. Al humdo lillah.

New 2012 calendars are now available from the Centre @ £1.50. This is just to cover the cost of production.

Solemnisation of Marriages
You can now have Nikah and Civil Marriage conducted at the same time at the Centre

1st-nikah Alhamdolillah, the Havering Islamic Cultural Centre (HICC) is now approved by the Home Office to conduct marriages at the Centre.

Couples wishing to ‘tie-the-knot’ in the house of Allah (SWA) will need to go through the following steps in order to get married (Nikah and Civil Certification):

Procedure for arranging to get marriage solemnised:

1. If you are resident of London Borough of Havering, you will go to Langtons House, Billet Lane, Hornchurch RM11 1XL .Tel: 01708 433 481 to 'Give Notice of Marriage' to the local Registrar of Marriages. The fee for this notice as at 15 July 2009 is £30 for bride and groom each.

2. The local Registrar will issue you a blue certificate (after various checks) to confirm that you can now go ahead with the civil marriage. For this, a period of 16 days has to lapse while they display this notice for anyone who may have any reason to object.

3. The Registrar will then have to be informed that you wish to get married at HICC. They will then give a date and time when they can attend the ceremony.

4. On the day of your marriage, you (the bride and the groom) will attend HICC where the local Registrar will be present to witness the Nikah (engagement) and hear the legal binding contract between the spouses.

5. At the end of the Nikah the Registrar will issue you a Marriage Certificate, while the Nikah Certificate (if required) will be issued by HICC.

Please note that the notice of marriage will be given by both parties (prospective groom and bride) to their respective borough in which they live. The whole process may take up to 4 weeks so give enough time and plan ahead.

Hall Hire:

The ground floor hall may be hired for various activities. However, due to restriction imposed by the council music and music instruments are not allowed in the premises apart from the public address system.

The rate for hiring the hall is £25 per hour. Contact us for booking information. Members of HICC should enquire with the Secretary of the hiring rate.

The hiring of Hall will be available at certain times of the day. Please check with the Secretary of the Center.

Marshal Arts:
Karate for Adults and Children is offered by a centre contact. If you are interested contact Sensei Janice Francis-Irwin (Third Dan) on: 078 1800 0643. The rates are:

Children - £5 per class
Adults - £6 per class

Presently we are unable to extend the activities listed below, as we are in a process of establishing the centre which requires large amounts of money and resources. We intend to provide the following activities as and when our resources allow us:
       Aerobic Classis
       Cricket
       Football
       Trekking
       Visiting Historical Places
       Fishing.

Funeral:

London Borough of Havering provided Muslim burial plot in the cemetery at Crow Lane Romford (opposite to Gas storage tanks site). In case of bereavement please contact any member of the HICC executive committee member who are ready to help whatever way than can.

Please contact Haji Gulam Taslim for funeral services. He or his staff will also advise you of all the relevant steps that need to be taken. They will arrange for the Janazah prayer according to your preference and will guide you in this trying time.
